Talk - Boosting Your Site's Performance with Edge Computing

Edge computing is not a new concept, but in the past few years we're seeing powerful tools made more easily available at the edge from providers such as Cloudflare, Netlify, and Vercel.

In this session, we'll look at:

• what the edge is;
• how running code and serving data on the edge can improve the performance of services hosted on cloud platforms; and
• how to leverage these tools effectively to maximize performance with minimal architectural changes.

About

Erica is currently a Sr. Software Engineer on the integrations team at Netlify. She's worked in a number of startups across a variety of industries throughout her career, including financial/small business technology, human resources software, and pharmaceutical research technology.

In her free time, she enjoys backcountry camping, attempting to learn the violin, and exploring new places in Toronto with her dog Ada.
